English

“We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already. We have the power to imagine better.”

JK Rowling

English Curriculum Introduction

We want our students to be inspired, creative and passionate about English so that they can become analytical, critical and perceptive thinkers who have autonomy over the power created by the use of the English language- both written and spoken so that they will develop into citizens of the world who can communicate confidently and have their own independence. We, as teachers, are ‘curators of culture’ whether that be through the texts studied, the discussions held or the experiences of others. We want our students to feel empowered by what they study so that they become better thinkers and more empathetic human beings.
