Appeals
Should you not be successful in securing a place at The Hathaway Academy for your child(ren), you have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel. For further details regarding the appeals process, or to request an Appeal Pack, please contact our Admissions Officer, Mrs Radley, by emailing: t.radley@hathawayacademy.attrust.org.uk or by telephoning 01375 371361. Alternatively you may wish to download an appeal form by clicking the link above (it is a part of the Admission Policy).
On 24 April 2020 the Government released guidelines for schools to follow with regards to the hearing of admission appeals during the pandemic. Those guidelines have recently been extended by the Government to be in place until 30 September 2022. Therefore, again this year, appeals lodged by parents/carers in relation to refusal of a place at Hathaway Academy will be held virtually.
National Offer day Tuesday 1st March 2022
Closing date for appeals to be submitted Wednesday 20th April 2022
Closing date for additional information Wednesday 4th May 2022
Paperwork to be dispatched by the Academy Wednesday 25th May 2022
Appeals heard Wednesday 15th June 2022
Late lodged appeals September 2022 onwards (for any appeals not heard by the end of the summer term)
Waiting list Maintained by Thurrock until 31 August 2022 and thereafter by Hathaway Academy
