Student Academy Council
At The Hathaway Academy, we understand the importance of our students’ views and opinions and provide an opportunity for discussion on important issues through the Academy Council. Council members are elected by their peers in elections conducted in September of each year.
The Academy Council is represented by a range of students from different tutor groups, year groups and faculties. The role of the representatives is to consult with their peers over issues that arise at the meetings and report back to their peers at the earliest opportunity.
The Academy Council meets every two weeks under the guidance of a member of staff. Minutes of the meetings are taken and are available to all tutor groups to ensure that every student is kept informed of what is being discussed and any decisions made.
