Hathaway Interact Club
Rotary is about making a difference to the lives of others through fellowship and service. Our service to others develops our own talents and abilities.
The Interact Club of Hathaway Academy is a service based organisation which is formed within the Rotary Family. The club is for young people aged 12 to 18 to work together helping others in their communities and across the world, whilst having fun and learning about the world. The Interactor’s organise at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their community and one that benefits international understanding. The members at Hathaway within their first three months of forming, raised £125 by organising a bake sale, for the staff and students to enjoy. Their chosen charity was Help for Heroes.
Their next venture will be a Service project, supporting members of the Student Council and members from their supporting club the Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway to transform the Quad area. The idea of this is to bring the community together to make a difference to the environment within the Academy, which will benefit the students and staff of the Hathaway family.
The members are now on a Recruit Drive to attract younger members enabling them to be chartered in May and to be officially recognised by the District Interact Chairman – Claire Pavitt and Rotary District Governor Stan Kellar.
